Abstract
In this paper an overview of the history of Digital Composition will be presented. It will be exposed the evolution of algorithmic composition since its beginning until our days, two contemporary examples of computer aided composition will be detailed as case-studies, and some of its consequences, and then, based on that, a refection upon the main problems and issues digital composition is facing today will be made, as well as some possible solutions.
