This is the tenth of my “Évocations”, a suite for solo piano, impressionistic, contemplative much in the trail of Satie, Debussy or Mompou. In a way a return to my origins and to my favourite style of music. Intimistic and suitable for aesthetic pleasure. This kind of music, I think it fits very well into the night or into movies and pictures.
This tenth piece, “l’île des hortensies” is fully dedicated to my dearest friend Ângela Moitoso and to her homeground landscapes in Fayal, Azores, Portugal.
